HPMA is the professional voice of HR in healthcare, and our purpose is to maintain and develop the people management contribution to healthcare in the UK. Supported by a strong branch network, we set and promote the highest standards in people management in healthcare.

As an integral part of the HPMA, the Wales Branch recognises the important role it can play in supporting members in building professional and personal support networks, promoting learning, exposing colleagues to new ideas and different ways of working and providing the opportunity and time to reflect on practice – building the capability and impact of people management in Wales.

HPMA Wales has been busy in the last few months working on revitalising the branch by focussing on the HR, Workforce and OD community; developing a membership strategy; and attracting new members and developing committee roles.

As a result of this work we have a launched a brand new innovation in Wales by appointing Link Officers in each of our 10 organisation. The role of the Link Officers is to support the work of the committee by ensuring information is reaching our members, and to ensure that we understand and respond to the needs of our members by providing direct feedback. They will also perform a co-ordinator role in booking members from their organisations onto our Events and Conference, and ensuring that members take advantage of the benefits of HPMA membership and access to Network – the official HPMA e-magazine.
