An action focused workshop for HR and OD practitioners who would like to focus on a particular workforce issue, using HR data analytics. In this session, we plan to look at resourcing, absence and workforce design issues.

Depending on the issues participants bring to the session, groups during the session could work on:

- Longer term OD interventions including workforce design/skill mix based on e-rostering and other data

- Short term response to managing absence through agency, bank etc

- Resourcing strategies to deal with ageing workforce, changing skill requirements and including talent management etc

- Resourcing effectiveness including time to hire, labour markets etc

It is aimed at people who already have a good understanding of using workforce data analytics.

Aims

This workshop aims to support HR and OD professionals to identify how they can use HR data analytics to understand business problems, promote more effective decision making and solve business problems.

  • What is the business problem you are looking to solve?
  • What sort of data do we need to understand the problem? How do you plan to investigate the problem?
  • How will you present the data effectively to facilitate effective decision making?

This session will therefore help you to become more proactive instead of reactive and to use HR data to influence and gain credibility in business conversations.

Target Audience

  • Aimed at HR and OD practitioners who have reasonably good knowledge of using HR data analytics but who have a particular challenge or problem they would like to explore or who would like to increase their confidence in using HR analytics to solve business or organisational problems.
  • Participants should be already working with the business and be in in a position to use HR data analytics to solve business problems (e.g. HR Business Partners or Heads of Workforce Intelligence)
  • You might also consider coming with a colleague, for example, HR Business Partners could come with your Heads of Workforce Information/Intelligence.

Booking Instructions

To book on this session, please email eva.burn@gstt.nhs.uk with your name, job title and email plus some information on what particular workforce issue you would like to focus where you think using data analytics would be helpful.

Please give details of the issue you are facing and how you would like to use HR data analytics:

During the workshop, participants will form groups around the particular organisational issues you would like to address. We therefore need to know which area you would like to focus on in advance.
