As a leader, board director and charity trustee with over 25 years’ experience in HR, OD and general management roles, Julia combines national policy level access and thinking with a deep understanding of specific culture issues and their solutions. Her skills lie in providing innovative support to organisations experiencing considerable change and her exposure to a variety of sectors (with a strong charity and NHS background) offers clients a wide range of support and tools in leadership, strategic HR, change management, facilitation and organisational development. She is passionate about people management and development and their role in transforming organisations and services. 


Julia’s key area of expertise is in providing advice and support on board and organisational development, strategy making and governance. Julia is currently the interim Programme Director, Workforce for the North Central London STP, is working with a number of clients on board, executive and leadership development, NHS Employers focusing on team building, coaching and vision/strategy making and with the London and KSS Leadership Academies focusing on building communities of practice in systems leadership.


Julia has a strong charity background and sits on the Board of Trustees of Borough Market and a Southwark almshouse charity. An active volunteer in the CIPD since 1998 and until June 2016 Julia was the Chair, SE London Branch and Lead Chair, CIPD London, the local branch partnership of 7 London branches which has 22k members.  She is also a member of the HPMA London Academy Board, Visiting Fellow at the University of Greenwich, Visiting Lecturer at the University of East London and a Fellow of the RSA.


With an MSc in Strategic HR management and organizational change, Julia enjoys developing herself and others. She is accredited by Belbin to use their Team Role Preferences tools and is studying for a Diploma in Interior Design and the Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching and Mentoring. Julia coaches leaders in developing their business acumen, political savvy and personal impact as part of her High Impact Leadership model delivery.


Julia is a columnist in the Health Service Journal, uses Twitter as a thought leadership and strategic networking tool, speaks/chairs at conferences on leadership, OD, career development and organisational politics and has recently written an article on the similarities of OD and the Argentinian Tango.   She is passionate about sailing, swimming, industrial design and cinema.
