HPMA Scotland presents
Creating a Culture of Kindness – Ben Thurman, Carnegie Trust on Dec 10, 2020 1:30 PM GMT
A discussion about kindness’, what the Carnegie Trust UK have learnt about kindness and wellbeing during Covid, in a health care context. Q&A around whether this resonates with people’s experiences and what we can all do moving forward.
This webinar will provide an overview of what the Trust has learnt about kindness in public policy and in practice over the past four years, drawing on a range of practice-based research to discuss why kindness matters, and what are the things that enable or inhibit kindness in organisations and public services. It will also share findings from an informal ‘listening’ project that has explored the role of kindness in the health care response to Covid-19, before creating space for a discussion about what can be done to create a ‘culture of kindness’ in health and social care settings that looks after the wellbeing of both staff and patients.
Ben works for the Carnegie UK Trust, an organisation that aims to improve the lives and wellbeing of people in the UK and Ireland. For the past two and half years, he has been leading the Trust’s policy on kindness, working with communities and organisations to explore what we can do to create the conditions for better relationships that improve wellbeing outcomes.
