Presentation, panel discussion, and Q&A in how to make the most from the levy in support of building HR capability through HR Apprenticeship programmes
Nicky Ingham, Exec Director of HPMA, will be joined by Simon Baker from Avado and Ian Mond from CIPD to share their insight and experiences in how to get the most from an HR apprenticeship scheme.
Since 2018, Avado has worked closely with CIPD and Civil Service HR to build an apprenticeship scheme across the UK Government. Building a successful apprenticeship scheme requires buy-in and partnership from various stakeholders, and Simon will share his experience in how they have built a programme that spans across all areas of Central Government HR Function.
Ian Mond from CIPD will also share detail on CIPD’s new and recently-launched Profession Map; and will illustrate how apprenticeships can form part of your HR talent and capability strategy.

Nicky is the part-time Executive Director of the HPMA and is an award-winning transformational leader and architect of change, inspiring change through people. With over 28 years’ experience working with organisations in a variety of workforce roles. She has 15 years as an Executive Director of Workforce and OD and now runs her own consultancy focused on coaching and organisational development.
Simon Baker – Simon has worked for Avado (formerly Arch Apprentices) for almost 5 years, leading on the company’s support of its Public Services clients since early 2018. Ian Mond - Ian has over 30 years’ experience in learning and HR environments. Ian works as a Lead Employer Engagement Manager for the CIPD, responsible for working closely with large national & multi-national companies across the UK. He works with organisations to define their strategic priorities and the purpose of their HR function.
