No-one could have foreseen the challenges we have had to overcome in the last year and the role of HR professionals in implementing organisational change at pace has often been overlooked.   

You have had to deal with adapting businesses to a different environment – whether reduced or increased demand, or maybe working very differently.  You have also been expected (and wanted) to support employees through these difficult times, as well as the business as usual activities.

Whilst HR professionals are great at looking out for the needs of others, they are often not so good at noticing their own needs!    

Therefore, we would like to invite you to join this Self-care Power Hour to build your self-care action plan.

This short participative workshop will:

  • Increase understanding of what we mean by psychological (mental) wellbeing and the impact of stress
  • Identify simple ways in which we can help ourselves overcome obstacles to prioritising self-care
  • Know that self-care is not a luxury, but a priority, to ensure we have the physical and mental resources we need to be able to do everything else.
  • It is a great time to be in HR and we will undoubtedly face new challenges.  Take this hour to think about how you can build your resources to be in the best place to meet and overcome them, and maximise your wellbeing and resourcefulness going forward.

Speaker Biopgraphy – Marion Hewitt, FCIPD.  Marion is an advocate for HR.  She is also an accredited trainer with MHFA England, a positive psychology practitioner and award winning coach.  Through her company Protea Solutions www.proteasolutions.co.uk she delivers mental health awareness and Mental Health First Aid training.  She is passionate about ensuring this is part of wider business strategy enabling the outcome of ‘unleashing the power of their people’ – the strapline for her business.  Her coaching specialism is building confidence and credibility, particularly for HR professionals, which draws on her background within HR.

This event will be held on Tuesday 6th July starting at 12pm and will last for approximately 60 minutes and will include the opportunity to ask questions.
