About Us
Since the formation of the NI HPMA branch, it has continuously grown in numbers, ideas and support. We represent 8 organisations from across healthcare in NI including, the Belfast, Northern, Southern, South Eastern and Western Trusts, as well as BSO, NIAS and NIMDTA. We strive to positively contribute to the development, support and wellbeing of our members, colleagues and organisations. This includes stepping outside our comfort zones and promoting both personal and professional opportunities to grow, being creative in our response to problem solving, and using our network to strengthen HR, OD and L&D functions throughout healthcare in NI.
Our Committee
Our Branch Committee meet regularly to focus on future plans and discuss a range of topics that are influenced by, and reflective of the needs of our members. Coupled with our passion and strong leadership, we pride ourselves on our ability to take a holistic view within and across our profession. We enjoy sharing best practice, learning from each other, and aim to shape the future of people management in the healthcare sector in NI and beyond.
We provide our Trusts with regular updates on the committees work, and actively encourage our colleagues across the sector to join, no matter what point of their career they’re at.
We take feedback from our members on what areas they would like to develop with an aim to improve HR working lives and deliver the very best of learning and practice to our members.

Our goals for 2023…
- Attract more members to our HPMA branch

- Together with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Public Services People Managers Association (PPMA) and Universities HR (UHR), the HPMA are working in partnership to form a collective voice for HR across the whole public sector.
- There’s recognition too with the opportunity to enter our annual NI Awards categories (plus national HPMA events and awards) with an awards ceremony to recognise and reward local HR excellence – celebrating the best in HR.
