The North West branch has grown from strength to strength over the last few years, as a result of the support and dedication of its existing and new committee members. The branch covers a large geographical area, with committee membership representation from across all parts of the region. Meetings are held bi-monthly with support provided by Hempsons Solicitors in Manchester, who are a regular sponsor of HPMA nationally and who have a key relationship with our branch.
This year, the branch has developed a core and advanced training offer for 2019/20 which provides a range of HR and OD development opportunities targeted at all levels of HR and OD professional. This more planned way of working has enabled the branch to successfully market the work of the HPMA across the North West, resulting in waiting lists developing for certain workshop topics. All workshops are sponsored and delivered by independent providers, who provide their time and experience to support the work of the HPMA.
The branch continues to grow and develop, focusing next on our marketing and social media communication to raise awareness of the value of HPMA membership. The branch is also focused on the evaluation of our workshops, to ensure that our offer remains reflective of the needs of our membership.
Our future ambition is to grow our training offer further, increasing our attendance at workshops and providing greater opportunities for HR and OD professionals to develop. This will include providing a greater focus on OD as an emerging skills gap within our profession. We are also keen to contribute to the delivery of the National HPMA Strategy and will align our future work to the five ambitions set out with that Strategy.
