North East & Cumbria

Branch Information

On Monday 16 October, the North East and Cumbria branch held the conference ‘A future of hope’ at the Radisson Blu Durham. Over 90 delegates enjoyed an inspiring day with local and national contributors. Our thanks to our speakers and supporters including Patchwork, Conformity Software, Liaison Group and NHS Business Services Authority. Find out more in the news post below.

The North East and Cumbria branch of the HPMA came into effect in December 2018.  We are now into our fifth year as a branch.

Lynne Shaw, Executive Director of Workforce and OD at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust is the Vice President and we are currently looking to appoint a Deputy Vice President.

As well as the Branch Committee, we also have an Events Committee which works closely with mainly local organisations to ensure that events cover the full sphere of the workforce agenda.

Trusts are provided with regular up-dates on the committee and what is open to them from their membership, this is mainly through the Newsletter but also the Provider Collaborative (Deputy HRD) network.

The first North East and Cumbria Branch Roadshow took place in October 2019 with a focus on the ‘Workforce of the Future’. The Roadshow had a fantastic line up of speakers and offered members the opportunity to network with Workforce and OD professionals from across the region.

Themes for planned future events include Workforce Analytics, Workforce Planning, Coaching and legislative based events facilitated in conjunction with commercial partners.

The branch continues to welcome new members and forge sustainable relationships with regional and national commercial partners.
