PPMA are delighted to invite you to contribute to a piece of research that we are conducting in partnership with EY.  The output of this work will be shared with members in Spring 2024

What are we researching? 

The focus of the research is the journey that we will go on over the next 10 years.  We’ve deliberately selected this timeline to take us beyond current planning and funding cycles.  The following questions will guide the research activity:

• What are the people/workforce challenges that LAs face today?
• Where do you believe your council should be from a people workforce point of view in 2035?
• What are the significant challenges you will face to get to this position?
• What people/workforce changes will your authority have to make to get there, and what are the risks?
• What do you anticipate is the impact of the health and social care integration agenda on your people agenda over the next 5 years?

How will we conduct the research?

• We are looking for volunteers for one-to-one 45-minute interviews.
• In parallel we will host round-table sessions of 6-8 people in London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, and Birmingham
• And in March we will issue a survey to members to complement the qualitative enquire

What do we need from you?

• We know that this is a busy time – when is it not!
• We welcome your offer of time to either the interviews or focus groups.  If you can respond with this offer, we will work with you to schedule the time.
