Janet Wilkinson introduces the new Award for systems workforce planning & development sponsored by HSJ Jobs

This year, in order to recognise the emergence of Integrated Care Boards and the growing emphasis on whole system collaboration, we decided to introduce the Award for Systems Workforce Planning and Development.  I believe that for workforce planning and development to be effective it needs to take account of the needs of the whole health and care sector and its workforce in planning for the future by taking a ‘one workforce’ approach across the NHS, primary care, social care and the voluntary, independent and charity sectors.  Whilst recognising that this work is extremely challenging in relation to availability of data we want to celebrate systems that have embarked on the journey and are showing early evidence of impact. We are pleased to welcome HSJ Jobs as the sponsor of this important award.

You can enter the HSJ Jobs Award for Systems Workforce Planning now here. The closing date for all entries into the HPMA Excellence in People Awards is 6pm on Thursday 27 April. The winners will be announced at the HPMA UK Conference on Tuesday 19 September in Leeds.

We’re really looking forward to seeing your entries into this category and to seeing you in Leeds.

Janet Wilkinson, Joint HPMA President
